Liz Lerman Dance Exchange:
Out of Darkness
The New Center for Arts and Culture connects the people of Boston and the world through exploration of the creative arts, diverse cultures and contemporary ideas, to foster mutual understanding and appreciation among people of all backgrounds and ages.
Liz Lerman Dance Exchange and Watertown-based Sayat Nova Dance Company, the internationally treasured Armenian troupe, collaborated for the first-time to create a new movement piece, Out of Darkness, whose underlying theme of genocide both provoked and inspired. These two groups explored mass violence in contemporary times and reflect on the scope of human compassion.
